Last night we had to go to a family birthday. I wasn't feeling great, but didn't want to miss out. Plus, I hadn't seen the little ones since last week. So I had to get my kiddo time in! Before the birthday Seth was asking me about the baby and kept pulling up my shirt to show people there was a baby in my belly. We were talking some and I showed him about how big the baby "could" be. He was loving it and started showing me himself. He then had to go around and show Grandma, Papa, Daddy, and Swae. He was so proud. Oh and if you talk to him, it is his baby. It is so cute.
At the birthday party, he showed a few people his baby's size. Everyone always asks him if it is going to be a girl baby or a boy baby. The kid is extremely confident when he answers that it is going to be a BOY BABY! And then Swae will argue with him because she is certain that it is going to be a little girl. They crack me up. I am just so happy they are so excited about having a new brother or sister.
After all the fun, it was time to take them to their mother. We have a ritual when dropping the kids off that they have put in place. I hold one of them, Eli holds the other and we have to give a big group hug and kiss. Then they get put down and Swae instantly reaches for my tummy and give the baby a kiss and then it is Seth's turn. This little one won't just kiss my belly with my shirt on it. Nope, he has to lift my shirt up to do it. He still isn't tall enough to reach my belly so I have to lift him. Last night he gave the biggest kiss ever. I put him down and he just looked at me like I was nuts and goes, "Um, hug!" He again lifted my shirt and hugged his baby. I set him back down and went to pull my shirt down, but he wouldn't let me just yet. I looked down just in time to see his sweet little face looking passionately at my tummy and his sweet voice say, "I love you baby."
And my heart melted and tears filled my eyes.
