Looking for Suggestions!

First, we need to buy Miss Skylar a new car seat and I am wondering what suggestions all you mommy's have. Looking for safety and for her to be comfortable for sure! I would really appreciate some help.

Also, we are starting to introduce whole milk. Lucky for us, she loves it. She still loves drinking from me though as well. In a couple weeks, I will be weaning her completely. This makes me sad and yet so very excited at the same time. And well, scared. I don't want to feel the pain of being engorged while trying to dry up. What helps with the pain!?!!

The Britax Roundabout is an awesome carseat. It was what people recommended to me when I bought Cole's and I love it. It adjusts really well and reclines and is super comfortable AND comes in tons of different fabric choices. I bought mine on Amazon, but you can probably find it at Babiesrus.

The best thing you can do with weaning is to taper off slowly. Go to one feeding per day and then every other day and then none. That's what I did with Cole. We were down to one feeding a day and then when I stopped I had no discomfort whatsoever. It's a natural process.

Definitely a Britax. The convertable car seats are comfy and you can find a gazillion different patterns (Maggie has a cow hide print). They are very highly rated for safety and will last until it's time for a booster seat.

Wear a super tight bra, like a sports bra that is a size to small. It helps keep things constricted so you can't engorge as much.

Then just deal with it. I expressed a couple times in the shower, just enough to not be in super pain but not enough to make my body think I was feeding a baby.

I was comfortable after about 10 days so it's not bad.

When I weaned Allie from formula to whole milk I did it ounce by ounce. I started out with 7 ounces of formula and added 1 ounce of whole milk and then slowly tapered the formula down a little more every 2 or 3 days. She did well with it and never fussed though she's not a huge milk drinker now. I sure wish she'd take it as well as she used to!

Can't go wrong with a Britax. Ween slowly, take away a feeding every couple days. That will slow your milk down.

You ladies are fabulous!!! Thank you for your input. I can't wait to get her a new car seat. And I guess I will wait until she is 1 until I start the skipping feedings...so crazy!

I couldn't justify spending $300 on a carseat for a Britax when I found another one I liked just as much. We got an Evenflo Triumph Convertible carseat. It has the adjustable straps so you can loosen them to get her in and situated, then tighten the straps once she's comfortable. I LOVE that feature. We got ours in chocolate brown and a minty green color. Here's the link from Target. http://www.target.com/Triumph-LX-Convertible-Carseat-Median/dp/B002C3S0QE/ref=br_1_12?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&searchView=grid5&searchNodeID=3579961&node=3579961&searchRank=pmrank&searchPage=3&searchSize=30&id=Triumph%20LX%20Convertible%20Carseat%20Median

Good luck!

Braelyn has a Britax something or other. It is expensive but worth it to me! I feel she is safe and comfy! As far as drying up...by best advice is go slow eliminating one feeding at a time. I didn't have a problem at all. Good luck!
