What Do I Do??

My baby keeps rolling from her back to her front and SLEEPING ON HER TUMMY!!! This freaks me out. I have always heard to keep them on their back and yet she L-O-V-E-S to sleep on her tummy. She gets so peaceful too when she does it. A few times I have rolled her over. Sometimes she will stay asleep and then others she stirs and will fidget until she rolls back on her belly.

Last night she slept in her crib in HER ROOM for a few hours. It was weird!!!! I fed her and put her in her cradle and then by the end of the night, she ended up in bed with Eli and I. I have been so exhausted lately that I have been giving in to her being in bed with us because I want my sleep and don't want to loose sleep with her fighting sleeping on her own. Ugh, since Disneyland everything has been off with the sleeping. Well, that and her not feeling good.

Oh and have I said that Saturday...

I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I know, I am already married. But this time, I get all my close friends and family there. I get to wear the most gorgeous dress I will ever put on that I found a year ago. I am beyond excited. In fact, words can't even explain how excited I am right now. Today when I was shopping and finishing up all that I needed to do so I could relax the rest of the night, it all really hit me. I am marrying the man of my dreams...AGAIN...on Saturday. And I can't wait!!! I can't wait to see him, I can't wait to see our babies all decked out. I can't wait for all of it.

Yay I'm so excited for you!!!! I just wish I could be there :)

As for Skylar....Allie would only sleep on her back when she was very small and I had her swaddled. As soon as she was too big to be swaddled she had to be on her tummy! Caleb was always like that from day one...would never ever sleep on his back. You have to do whatever you can to get them to sleep....it'll be okay!!! Oh and as for the bed...well Allie's in ours as I'm typing this so you know what I think of that :)

I purchased a sleep positioner and it kept both my kids on their backs all through the night. Good luck babe.

YAY! CONGRATS that is wonderful news! Please take TONS of pictures because your going to be the prettiest bride ever!

Yeah for your wedding, even though mine was like 100 years ago I still remember the week leading up to the big event.

I bought one of those triangle pads to keep H on his back. It worked really well but at a certain point they are going to just sleep however they are comfortable.

As long as she can roll herself around some of the SID fear can be elminated. If she isn't getting enough oxygen and can roll over she is fine.

As long as she can roll over by herself she should be ok. All babies do that- Cole STILL prefers to sleep on his tummy. He also has a habit of putting his head UNDERNEATH pillows- which is disturbing and I am always pulling them off of him. Just as long as there is nothing else in the crib she should be fine!!

Congrats on your wedding! How exciting!

Okay, here is what I was told by my pediatrician and all the pediatric ER docs I work for (all 30 of them!):
once they are able to roll over and raise their heads, they are fine to sleep on their tummies. NO COVERS OR BLANKETS IN THEIR CRIB until they are 2. If her room gets cold, then put her in a sleep sack. NO LOOSE COVERS. They can get tangled. But seriously, she is fine sleeping on her tummy. I did the same thing as you at first, too. :)

Bayley sleeps on her tummy with her knees tucked underneath with her booty in the air. Too cute.

And YAY for the wedding!

WOW! You're getting married on Saturday? AWESOME!

Once babies can roll over, the risk of SIDS goes down significantly. I wouldn't worry about it.

Try one of those sleep positioner things so she can't roll while sleeping.

How exciting for your wedding!!!! Are you getting married here in Reno??? It's going to be awesome! Enjoy yourself!

WooHoo!! Tomorrow is the big day! Wishing you many years of happiness together! =)
Rolling onto the stomach at night always worried me too... our doctor told us that if he was rolling on his own, he would be okay and there was no need to worry... I still worried, though. Good luck!

Yep dont freak out. They work it out. Just dont put blankets in the crib. I keep her in a swaddle blanket and a few dolls in there that cant hurt her. I know it is strange when you transition her to her own room and sometimes they make it back to your room. no worries
